YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

This blog has been on the internet for exactly 7 months and 6 days ago. I cannot believe it all started with a book from the local library. Here is the link to my first post, http://learnweblogs.blogspot.com/2009/05/my-first-entry.html.

Blog Colour 2

The poll that I put up to choose the colour for this blog has not got a lot of response with only one person and me voting. For the time being I will make the blog Christmas colours like green and red, when I get more responses I will make a final decision for the colour.

Now since I don't have the exact hex codes for the current colour if the majority says keep it the same I will try my best to reset it.

In other news I will be doing a special End of year post which will mark the 9 months that this blog has been operating for.

Blog Colour

Hi,

I have found a website with hexadecimal/hex codes. These allow you to manually change a the colour of your webpage via the Html Edit page in Layout. To determine which colour to make this blog I have made a poll. Please vote to make your voice heard.

This Blog on Facebook

Hi,


I have made a group for this blog on Facebook. It will allow a larger scope of people from different countries to visit this blog so more people have the chance to make their blog better. Cbox

I have successfully found something similar to a Discussion Forum. It is a chat box developed by cbox. You can make your own by going to the cbox website. It is under the Recent posts Gadget and above the Feeds gadget.The chat is also live so if one person in the US is typing and someone in NZ is typing they will see it update in realtime (to be tested). There is also an update button.

Hello,

It has been one week since the previous post about transliteration. I managed to get my Google Analytics account up and running. Now I have completely run out of ideas for the next post. Now I need your requests. Tell me what you want to see in this blog and I will get it done for you. I have been running out of time so I don't think that the special post will happen on Saturday, but I have formulated a new goal....

Transliteration

Hi,

There are a lot of different languages in the world and there is only one World Wide Web. So to help with this hurdle there is a feature in Blogger known as transliteration. This feature automatically phonetically translates you work.

About this blog

You have probably noticed the about this blog note at the top of the page. To add it you mut go to Layout, Add Gadget. Then type your message. After that save the gadget and then drag it above the Blog Posts part and  also on top of the gadgets. I reckon it looks better underneath the title but it is your call.

I have also found that I will have to delete something from the Blog Posts thing to put Star Ratings in.

Octobers Goal

Hi,

As I said on the special post there will be a new goal/objective. The goal is.....

Get 25 votes by 27/10/09. I will have a total of 5 polls in that time and I hope that there will be at least 5 votes on each poll.

I also have another update...

The star ratings are not working and I am trying to find a solution. I think it is because I can only have 3 lines of thing underneath each post. If you have any answers or solutions please leave a comment.

My answer is ... yes you can to do this you must edit it as usual by clicking the Edit button in Blog Posts. Then click edit by the reactions part.Then add a comma and the next reaction.

Embedded comments

As I promised I have tried and tested something new from Bloggers 10th Birthday.

I enabled embedded comments, this means that when you click on the posts title the comment form appears underneath previous comments.

Nine days to go

There are only nine more days until 1 October so keep those comments coming or the special post will not happen.

To tell you a bit about it it will have every thing I have learnt so far, plus two extra features.

I will also be shortening some previous posts with jump breaks so all of the information will still be there I am just trying to make the homepage load faster. I will only break the "The blog author" bit and the instructions on how to do it yourself

I also have another blog about Climate Change that you might like. I made a blog widget with Blidget and put it on my sidebar. I do this blog with Bookologist the person who posted lot of comments. Good on you!

Two more comments to go

Hi,

I counted the amount of comments we have and guess what there are 1 comments which means that when there is two more comments I will post the special post.

Also I have put a new widget on the sidebar. It uses Google Calendar to schedule events. Sice I am confident that there will be 2 more comments in two more weeks I have already scheduled the special post to be on 1/10/09.

In the next two weeks I will have one post per week. Blogger is celebrating it's birthday by having new widgets, templates etc. I will use one new feature each week and put up a post about it.

I also have one mor thing to mention. I have another blog that I do with a friend. It is really cool and just follow the link to check it out. http://climatesat.blogspot.com/ . Don't forget to vote on the poll.

I have set a goal to do as much as possible to make more people visit this blog. So use the email icon and tell your friends and family.

My other goal is to get more comments in. I must have about 15 comments this month otherwise the special post in't going to come.

Adding a picture from another website

Hi,

I am sorry for the mistake in the information in the last post. There is one more thing I can do in multimedia, that is adding a picture from the internet. However because of copyright etc. I have to upload one to this post and then use that one.

You may be thinking why I don't just use the one from the Adding a picture post, that is because the photo is huge when I open it on the internet.

Here is the picture from the computer..... 

Now I will make a new post and use this picture. Hopefully it won't be too big online.

Template and Widget Information

Hi,

It has been a long time sice I posted something so here it is.

I was reading Blogger Buzz, Google's blog about Blogger to help Bloggers users, and as part of Bloggers tenth birthday they had changed the options on the labels widget. So I took advantage and I changed it. Now all of the labels are bigger if they have more posts with those labels on them. I have also changed the poll. The previous one was hard to adhere to because there is nothing else I can do in multi-media, so widgets it is!!! I have also changed the template becuse I thought that the old one too boring. The widgets are back on the right side now. Don't forget that if you can't follow the blog you can get a feed of it right to your browser. It is all in the sidebar.

At the bottom of the page I have added a followers Widget so you don't have to scroll back up to the top of my blog just to keep updated on my posts.

I have also added labels to all of my posts so it is easier for you to find the post that you want.

As many of you know the sidebar has been on one side of my blog since Day One but yet still very few people use it.

I have put a lot of time into that SIDEBAR so it would be nice if I could see the efforts paying off.

I went on help.blogger.com to find out ways to get more viewers. That is exactly what I did, but I need your help to use one way. Underneath reactions (the gadget not the post) there is an icon shaped like an envelope, if you click that there will be a window that opens up asking for details so blogger can email the post that you have selected to email. It is one hundred percent confidential, so you can trust the website. If you follow the instructions and click Send email the email will be sent.

Adding a picture

Hi I have waited for a long time to do this. I've been itching to click thet button and today I did it. I am talking about adding a picture to your post. Here is a random picture. underneath it are the instructions. :)

To upload a pic ture there is a button on the top of the toolbar when you add a post. Click the one on the right of the spell check symbol. Then Click browse. Find the picture that you want and click it then click upload. You can choose where put your picture by clicking the the buttons which say None,Left,Right and Centre. It can become a hassle but you'll get used to it. You can edit your post while the photos upload.

Comments

I know you have had trouble finding out how to make comments. So I found this handy gadget that means that you don't have to go to a different webpage just to leave a comment. It also means that you can comment on the whole blog not just a specific post. You can still do it the old way. So keep those comments coming.

Templates

I found out about templates a few weeks ago but I didn't think that it was a big deal but it is as you can see it changes the whole look of the blog. Un fortunetly it also removes the html codes for banners etc. So my Sign On banner is no longer there. Oh well.

PS. I would love to hear from you just leave a comment anyone can do it. The poll is still open as well.

Widgets

For the time being I am going to focus on Widgets while I wait for the final results on the poll. So one I added was the WeatherBug that tells the weather and weather forecast. So keep on visiting for regular updates.

I support Earth hour and I heard about this website from greenPeace as soon as I found out that You can have a banner on your website I put one up. So now i'm only exploring Blogger but the process of making a website as well.

I was always interested in how many people actually look at my blog so I searced it up in Blogger Help, it came up with a few websites and I chose one made an account and now I receive information via email. It's logo is at the bottom of the page.

Little Update

Sorry, I sort of broke the rules I set. :( I explored Blogger a bit and stumbled upon some neat customization settings so now everything is not from the book but I you are still reading the Blog of my Learning Journey.
